Reds hire Hall of Famer Larkin as minor league instructor

The Cincinnati Reds have hired Hall of Fame shortstop Barry Larkin as minor league roving infield instructor.
Assistant Director of Media Relations for the Cincinnati Reds, Jamie Ramsey, announced the hiring Friday afternoon.

Larkin was inducted in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2012 after spending 19 seasons playing shortstop for the Reds.
A 12-time All-Star, Larkin was the starting shortstop for the 1990 Wire-to-Wire World Series champions, and 1995 National League MVP. During his 19 seasons, Larkin hit .295 with 198 homer and 2,340 career hits.
In the field, Larkin won three straight Gold Gloves from 1994-1996.
