CINCINNATI -- The Reds announced their spring training roster, including 19 non-roster invitees that feature top prospects Nick Howard, Robert Stephenson and Jesse Winker.

Pitchers and catchers report to Goodyear, Ariz., on Feb. 18, while position players are due to report five days later. The first full squad workout is scheduled for Feb. 24, and the first Cactus League game is set for March 2 against Cleveland at Goodyear.

The Reds' 40-man roster includes 22 pitchers, three catchers, six infielders and nine outfielders. The additional 19 invitees included eight pitchers, three catchers, four infielders and four outfielders. More non-roster invitees could be added before camp opens, most likely veteran pitchers who will be given a shot at earning one of the two starting rotation spots that became available when Alfredo Simon and Mat Latos were traded last month.

Johnny Cueto, Homer Bailey and Mike Leake will make up three rotation spots but there will be competition to replace Simon and Latos. Dylan Axelrod, Tony Cingrani, Daniel Corcino and David Holmberg all got starts for the Reds last season but they won't be the only candidates for the rotation.

Raisel Iglesias was signed to a seven-year/$27 million deal last summer after defecting from Cuba. The Reds were impressed with how he pitched during the Arizona Fall League. Anthony DeSclafani, who was acquired from Miami in the Latos deal, made five starts among the 13 games he appeared in for the Marlins last season.

Among the non-roster invitees are players the Reds have chosen in the first-round of the June amateur draft each of the last four years. Howard, a right-handed pitcher, was taken with the 19th overall pick last year out of the University of Virginia. Pitcher Michael Lorenzen was a supplementary first-round pick in 2013 out of Cal State Fullerton and pitched at Double-A Pensacola last season. Pitcher Nick Travieso and Winker, an outfielder, were picked in the first-round in 2012 and Stephenson was the first-round pick in 2011.
