Thursday's loss to the Cubs was a long and painful game for Reds fans. After winning 12 straight in Wrigley Field (an all-time record for visiting teams), the 14-inning loss was difficult to swallow.
The Reds went scoreless over the final 8 innings of the game, and the Cubs finally took the win against setup man Jonathan Broxton.
The loss also opened the eyes of Redlegs75, who submitted the following comment;
I'm really scared that this Reds team is headed for a massive fall.Yes, they have a great record, but who is it against? As of this morning, the Reds have played the 5 worst teams in MLB 26 times. They are 22-4 against those teams, which is a fantastic record!The problem? That means that they are a below-average 18-23 against the teams that are actually good.Against teams that are .500 or better? The Reds are only 10-18.Against teams that are currently in a playoff spot? The Reds are 6-12.I worry that my team got fat on cupcakes and are going to get thumped when the schedule gets tough starting next week.
What do you think? Are there other Reds fans who are worried that the team has had an easy schedule, or do you think that this Cincinnati team is stacked and will take care of business in October?
How is the feeling in Cincinnati - we want to know your thoughts!
