Tropicana Field will be spruced up to enhance the fan experience for the 2014 season.

On Tuesday, the Rays released renderings for how the $1.3 million plan will look. The makeover includes walkways behind the outfield stands, including an open-air concession area behind center field where a restaurant previously stood. Other improvements, such as restroom and lighting enhancements, will also be included.

"These renovations reflect our constant commitment to providing a first-class gameday experience at Tropicana Field," Rays principal owner Stuart Sternberg said in a release. "A visit to the ballpark will be even more enjoyable because of these new features and attractions."

The St. Petersburg City Council approved the project with a 7-0 vote on Nov. 25. Here’s a look at how the Tropicana Field additions are projected to appear when the Rays host the Toronto Blue Jays on March 31, Opening Day.
