The Tampa Bay Rays placed outfielder Brandon Guyer on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a left thumb fracture. Right-hander Alex Colome, who served a 50-game suspension for testing positive for Boldenone, was promoted to the active roster and will serve out of the bullpen.

Guyer has hit .262 with one home run and six RBI in 28 games this season. The injury occurred in a victory over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday at Tropicana Field, when he attempted a diving catch on a double by outfielder Grady Sizemore.

Colome, meanwhile, was 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA in three appearances with the Rays last season. He was expected to be a key part of the bullpen coming out of spring training before his suspension for testing positive for the performance-enhancing substance was announced in March.
