Rays' David Price has advice for high schooler who threw 194 pitches

A high school pitcher in Washington state threw 194 pitches in one game and drew the concern of Tampa Bay Rays left-hander David Price.
Dylan Fosnacht of Rochester High School struck out 17 on Tuesday before being pulled in the top of the 15th inning of a 1-0 victory over La Center High School in 17 innings. The jaw-dropping total comes in a year when increased attention has been paid to Tommy John surgery with many pitchers requiring the ligament-reconstruction procedure, including Rays left-hander Matt Moore and Miami Marlins right-hander Jose Fernandez.
"We talked to him every inning, and he said he felt comfortable," Striegel told the newspaper. "He felt good, and he's a little competitor. He didn't want to come out of the ballgame."
haha you're a beast @DFosnacht5 ...but let's be a little smarter brotha!! Love the competitiveness though!! #urcoachshouldbefired

However, Striegel appeared to show more awareness in a conversation with Yahoo! Sports Big League Stew on Thursday.
"I realize that it was way too many pitches," Striegel told the blog. "I can understand everybody's concern about it. And I would tell you too that I am concerned also. I probably would change the decision today."
Lesson learned, though it came about 94 pitches too late. Fosnacht would be wise to preserve his "money maker" in the future.
