Rangers swap Ortiz for Wolf for added LHP

ARLINGTON, Texas – The need for a left-handed pitcher prompted the Texas Rangers to recall Joseph Ortiz from Triple A Round Rock Friday.
    
To make room for Ortiz the Rangers sent Ross Wolf to Triple A. The club will recall Wolf after Round Rock ends its season Monday.
    
The Minnesota Twins have five left-handed hitters and started four against the Rangers Friday.
    
Ortiz was 2-1 with a 3.08 ERA in 19 appearances for Round Rock. He’s made 25 appearances for the Rangers this year. Wolf pitched two innings for the Rangers Wednesday. He’s 1-3 with a 4.14 ERA in his 21 games for Texas.
