Rangers send Ross to Triple A

It was a rough day for another member of the Texas Rangers Opening Day rotation.
Left-hander Robbie Ross, who lost his rotation spot earlier this season, was optioned to Triple A Round Rock to make way for left-hander Aaron Poreda.
Ross, who won a rotation spot in spring training, is 2-4 with a 5.61 ERA in 18 appearances for Texas. He made nine starts before going to the bullpen and has seen his numbers skyrocket since the move. In nine relief appearances, Ross has a 9.00 ERA and he's allowed eight runs in his last 3 1/3 innings of work.
This will be Poreda's third stint with Texas. He has a 3.29 ERA in 16 appearances with the Rangers and had a 3.09 ERA with Round Rock.
Both Ross and Tanner Scheppers won rotation spots out of spring training after spending last season in the Texas bullpen. Scheppers is on the disabled list for the second time this season and won't throw for at least another five weeks.
