Left-hander Kelvin De La Cruz, who the Texas Rangers acquired from Cleveland last month for cash considerations, was traded back to the Indians Thursday for cash considerations.

Earlier Thursday the club had reassigned De La Cruz to their Double-A spring training camp in Surprise, Ariz.

De La Cruz, who was a starter while with the Cleveland organization, had been working as a reliever with Texas before getting sent down. He had made three appearances with Texas this spring, including two in B games.

The move leaves the Rangers with 39 players on their 40-man roster.

The De La Cruz deal capped a busy day of moves for Texas. The Rangers optioned right-handers Wilmer Font and Matt West to the High-A Myrtle Beach camp. Texas also reassigned right-hander Fabio Castillo to the Frisco camp.

The moves leave the Rangers with 56 players in camp.
