Rangers rookie Ortiz sports pink backpack

If you're around a Major League Baseball team long enough you'll notice the strange ways veterans try to make their rookie teammates feel foolish.
One way is to have them dress up in silly costumes during road trips, like Texas Rangers rookies Yu Darvish and Jurickson Profar did in September.
Another way was caught on camera Tuesday night. Pitchers often make their younger teammates carry something embarrassing to the bullpen. Often times, as was the case with Rangers pitcher Joe Ortiz, it's a backpack. And not just any backpack, but one that is intended to be worn by a girl in preschool.
Following Darvish's near perfect game in Houston, FOX Sports Southwest cameras caught Ortiz sporting a Minnie Mouse backpack.
Want a few other examples of this type of rookie hazing from last season? Well, Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout dressed up like a baby and had to wear a diaper, Detroit Tigers Avisail Garcia and Bryan Villarreal dressed as Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders and several Minnesota Twins wore orange prison jump suits.
