Rangers' Ogando to miss next start

ARLINGTON, Texas – Texas starter Alexi Ogando has been scratched from his Monday start after he received an injection in his shoulder Saturday.

The Rangers will start Matt Garza, who was originally slated to start Tuesday, to fill Ogando's spot. Garza will be on regular rest.

The Rangers are undecided on who will make the Tuesday start. Long man Ross Wolf is a candidate as well as Triple A starters Travis Blackley and Josh Lindblom.

Ogando started Wednesday but informed the team Thursday that he had a sore shoulder. A CT scan revealed inflammation in a nerve in the shoulder.

Texas manager Ron Washington said no decision has been made about putting Ogando on the disabled list because the team wants to see how his shoulder responds to the injection.

Ogando has already been on the DL twice this year, including missing nearly six weeks because of right shoulder inflammation.
