SAN FRANCISCO — The Texas Rangers have decided right-hander Roy Oswalt's next minor-league start will come in Frisco Tuesday and not Albuquerque.
Oswalt was originally slated to start for Triple-A Round Rock Tuesday but will now pitch for Double-A Frisco at home against Midland.
Texas manager Ron Washington said there’s nothing to be read into the change of venues for Oswalt.
"That’s strictly to get him out of Albuquerque, New Mexico," Rangers manager Ron Washington said. “He can judge a little better what he’s doing in Frisco than Albuquerque, New Mexico."
Oswalt, who made two starts for Round Rock, is slated to throw around 80 pitches in the 7 p.m. game.
