Rangers manager wouldn't mind adding pitcher

Texas manager Ron Washington spent his off day Thursday signing autographs and posing for pictures at a promotional stop. He was also constantly asked by Texas fans about what his team would do before the trade deadline. He politely declined to answer.
That didn't change Friday as the team returned to Rangers Ballpark, but Washington wouldn't mind seeing the club make a move before Tuesday's deadline.
"We can use a good pitcher," said Washington when asked if the club needed a No. 1 pitcher. "We need a lot of things."
The Rangers have been linked with several starters, but as of now nothing is close. Washington would be okay with that too.
"The No. 1 need on my wish list is to keep winning," said Washington, whose team opened Friday night's series against Chicago with a five-game lead in the West. "That's what I need."
