Rangers' Lewis on target for Monday rehab start

ARLINGTON, Texas – Texas right-hander Colby Lewis had no issues during his bullpen session Friday at Rangers Ballpark and is on track for a rehab start Monday in Frisco.

Lewis has made one rehab start but had his second one pushed back because of some inflammation in his right triceps.

"It felt all right," Lewis said. "It felt like throwing a bullpen. I felt fine, normal."

Lewis is expected to throw four innings or around 60 pitches in the Double A game.

Lewis, who is rehabbing from flexor tendon surgery, dealt with triceps inflammation in 2010 and didn't miss a start.

Lewis thinks he'll probably need around three more rehab starts before he's ready to pitch for the Rangers. If he pitches Monday and stays on a five-day schedule, that could have him back in the rotation for a series that begins June 4 in Boston.
