Rangers' Holland still not cleared to throw from mound

The wait for Texas left-hander Derek Holland will be a little longer than initially expected.
Holland still hasn't been cleared to throw from a mound and that won't come before he has another MRI on his left shoulder June 19. That puts his return in a best-case scenario around the end of July.
Holland, who has been limited to one inning this year because of a strained muscle in his left shoulder, is playing catch from 90 feet but the Rangers won't let him on the mound until the MRI shows the shoulder is 100 percent clean.
Texas general manager Jon Daniels said Monday that the MRI showed the shoulder about 90 percent healed and that Holland has had no setbacks. The club just wants to make sure everything's good before Holland takes the next step.
