Rangers add another pitcher to DL

ARLINGTON, Texas – Add another pitcher to the disabled list for the Texas Rangers.
Right-hander Mark Lowe was put on the 15-day DL with a strained right intercostal muscle. The move was retroactive to June 26.
Lowe has been bothered by the muscle near his rib cage recently but couldn’t pick up a ball to throw Friday. The Rangers are calling up right-hander Yoshinori Tateyama to take his roster spot.
Lowe pitched three innings in Monday’s game, which equaled his career high for innings pitched in a game. Lowe is 0-0 with a 2.30 ERA in 26 appearances.
The Rangers already have three starters – Colby Lewis, Neftali Feliz and Derek Holland – on the DL as well as relievers Koji Uehara and Alexi Ogando. Despite all the injuries, the Rangers have won 15 of their last 19 games and the pitching staff still has the fifth-best ERA (3.69) in the American League.
