Rams release preseason schedule

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Rams will host the defending Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens and the NFC North Champion Green Bay Packers as part of their 2013 preseason schedule.
The Rams will open the second preseason of the Jeff Fisher Era in Cleveland and will play a nationally-televised contest against the Denver Broncos on Saturday, Aug. 24.
Specific dates and times for preseason Weeks 1, 2 and 4 will be announced at a later date. CBS will carry the Denver contest, while the three other preseason games will be broadcast locally and regionally on the Rams Broadcast Network.
St. Louis’ preseason opener will be the 28th preseason meeting between the Rams and Browns. The Rams, who traveled to Cleveland during the 2010 preseason, hold a 14-12-1 advantage in the preseason series with the Browns.
In Week 2 of preseason play, the Rams will host the Packers at the Edward Jones Dome. St. Louis and Green Bay have previously met just three times in preseason play but haven’t faced each other since the Rams traveled to Madison, Wis. in 1994. The Rams are 2-1 all-time in the preseason against the Packers.
In their third week of preseason play, the Rams will travel to Denver to face the Broncos in a nationally-televised game on CBS. The contest will be the first preseason meeting between the teams in 1998 and the Rams’ first preseason trip to Denver since 1989. The Rams-Broncos game will be St. Louis’ first nationally-televised preseason game since a 2007 game against the San Diego Chargers, which was also broadcasted by CBS.
For the third time in four years, the Rams close out the preseason with a home game against the Baltimore Ravens. The Rams and Ravens have only previously met twice in the preseason. St. Louis won their 2010 and 2012 preseason finales over Baltimore. The Ravens visited the Edward Jones Dome during the 2011 regular season, so their 2013 trip to the Gateway City will mark the fourth-consecutive year in which the Rams have played the Ravens in St. Louis.
