ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The Rams claimed former Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young off waivers, a team source confirmed on Tuesday afternoon.
The news, first reported by Jason La Confora of CBSSports.com, reunites Young with former Boise State teammate Austin Pettis.
Young, a former Lions' second-round draft pick who was released on Monday, had become a distraction for the team. He made news recently, telling his high school coach he was just as good as NFL record setter and former teammate Calvin Johnson and tweeting negatively about the Lions.
During his two years in Detroit, Young hauled in 81 receptions for 990 yards and 10 touchdowns.
