Quick Hits: Pirates at Tigers 3.31.15

Early News: Still no indication when Justin Verlander is going to throw next. He is not on the schedule for the next three days.
Tom Gage: What's going on, Dana? A cramp was not just a cramp?
Dana Wakiji: Verlander said yesterday he wasn't going to throw until the soreness was completely gone. If he's able to pitch in a minor-league game, he can still start in the first series. If not, then all bets are off. But everyone still keeps calling it a cramp.
TG: Anybody getting uptight about it yet?
DW: Both Verlander and pitching coach Jeff Jones sounded optimistic when asked about it but manager Brad Ausmus is having to prepare for a scenario in which Verlander can't pitch right away.
TG: One other ailment-related question, how has Jose Iglesias looked to you this spring?
DW: Ever since he got over sliding into the base with his shin and getting hit by a J.D. Martinez line drive during batting practice on the shin, Iglesias has been just fine. He's been able to play shortstop for an entire game.
I call him the always-effervescent Iglesias because he has so much of that bouncy energy all the time.
