Questing romps in Alabama Stakes

Questing posted an impressive nine-length victory in the 132nd running of the $600,000 Alabama Stakes for 3-year-old fillies on Saturday at Saratoga Race Course.
Irad Ortiz Jr. rode the Kiaran McLaughlin-trained filly, who went to the lead at the break and was never challenged while running 1-1/4 miles in 2 minutes, 1.2 seconds. She earned $360,000 in her third consecutive win for Godolphin Stable and second at Saratoga, where she won the Coaching Club American Oaks in July.
Questing returned $6.40 for a $2 win bet. In Lingerie was second and Via Villaggio third in a field of seven.
Also Saturday, Point of Entry, ridden by John Velazquez, pulled away for a four-length victory in the $600,000 Sword Dancer Invitational. The Shug McGaughey-trained 4-year-old ran 1-1/2 miles on the inner turf course in 2:26.4 for his fourth consecutive win in a so-far undefeated season.
Point of Entry earned $360,000 for the Phipps Stable and paid $4.80. Al Khali was second and Brilliant Speed third in a field of nine.
