Pretty N Cool wins Sorrento Stakes at Del Mar

DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) Pretty N Cool won the $200,000 Sorrento Stakes for 2-year-old fillies by 2 3/4 lengths at Del Mar on Wednesday.

Ridden by Martin Garcia, Pretty N Cool ran 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:16.94 and paid $2.80, $2.20 and $2.10 as the 2-5 favorite. The filly is trained by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert, who won the race for the seventh time.

Gomo returned $9 and $6.20 at 19-1 odds, while One True Kiss was another 2 1/4 lengths back in third and paid $5 to show.

The victory, worth $120,000, increased Pretty N Cool's career earnings to $162,000, with two wins in two starts for co-owner Mike Pegram, a longtime client of Baffert.
