(Fort Lauderdale, FL) ― FOX Sports Florida announced Tuesday that they will be televising and streaming the Columbus-St. Thomas Aquinas game on FS Florida via Prep Zone. Prep Zone is a revolutionary way of displaying high school football merging television, web and social media all in one place. This is the first South Florida game that FOX Sports Florida will feature this season.

On Friday, Aug. 31, Prep Zone will visit Sun Life Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins, for a huge matchup between Miami Christopher Columbus and perennial state powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas. Kick-off is at 7:00 P.M. and television coverage will air on delay and begin immediately following the Miami Marlins game on FOX Sports Florida. For the Florida high school football fanatic who prefers to catch the game live, FOXSportsFlorida.com will be streaming all the action at 7:00 pm via Prep Zone.

Columbus went 10-3 in 2011, losing 14-6 to Miramar in the Class 8A state semifinals. The Explorers boast an array of explosive offensive talent, led by 5-foot-9 WR Jesus Wilson, a burner who has committed to Florida State. The Columbus ground game is also formidable behind dual RBs Daryl Chestnut and Lorenzo Woodley, both ranked among the top eight recruits in Miami-Dade.

Six-time state champion Aquinas, ranked No. 14 nationally in PrepNation’s preseason poll, had an inauspicious finish to its 2011 campaign, losing 6-3 to Palm Beach Dwyer in the Class 7A regional finals. The Raiders have a defense capable of shutting down the explosive Explorers, led by 6-foot-4, 270-pound DE Joey Bosa, an Ohio State commit. Offensively, Aquinas will be led by QB John O’Korn, a Houston commit, and OL Kyle Schafenacker, a Connecticut commit.
