The Nashville Predators' opponent in the Western Conference Semifinals will be the Pacific Division champion Phoenix Coyotes, who won their first-round series on Monday over Chicago with a 4-0 victory in Game 6.

While the Predators earned seven more points in the regular season than Phoenix, the Coyotes will have home-ice advantage, as the NHL awards the top three seeds in each conference to division champions regardless of the number of points they earn.

The league has yet to release a schedule on the next round.

Nashville, the West's No. 4 seed, defeated Detroit in five games in its opening-round series and has not played since Friday.

Coach Barry Trotz gave the Predators off days on Saturday and Tuesday. The team practiced on Sunday and Monday.

During the regular season, the Coyotes and Predators split their games 2-2 with each team scoring 12 goals.

The series victory was the first for Phoenix since it relocated from Winnipeg in the mid '90s.
