BELEM, Brazil (AP) Former world-record holder Asafa Powell won a 100-meter race in Brazil in 10.02 seconds on Sunday, his fastest mark of the year.
The Jamaican sprinter beat Americans Marvin Bracy (10.14) and Dentarius Locke (10.17) at the Brazilian Grand Prix in the northern city of Belem.
The 31-year-old Powell said he wants to try to ''keep improving his time to start serious preparations to qualify for the 2016 Olympics'' in Rio.
Powell, who ran 9.72 in 2008, served a six-month suspension after failing a doping test last year.
