AUBURN HILLS -- The Pistons will catch a break Sunday evening, as Boston superstar Kevin Garnett will miss the game due to personal reasons.

Garnett, 35, had played in 28 of Boston's first 29 games, averaging 14.1 points and 7.8 rebounds. His backup, Brandon Bass, will also miss the game due to a sore knee.

"That takes both of our stretch fours off the floor, and it is always going to be tough to play a game without KG," Boston coach Doc Rivers said. "We just have to adapt, because we were hoping to have both of them ready tonight."

Former Piston Chris Wilcox will start in Garnett's place.
