Phillips to paternity list among several Reds moves

The Cincinnati Reds made a handful of moves prior to the start of their three-game series at Oakland on Tuesday night.
The most noteworthy transaction involved Gold Glove second baseman Brandon Phillips, who was placed on the paternity list.

To take his spot, the club recalled infielder Henry Rodriguez from Triple-A Louisville.
The Reds also activated outfielder Chris Heisey from the disabled list and sent outfielder Donald Lutz to Double-A Pensacola to make room for him. Heisey went on the DL in late April with a strained hamstring.
Heisey is in the lineup as the designated hitter tonight against the Athletics while Cesar Izturis is starting at second in place of Phillips.
