Pflugrad earns post-grad scholarship

TEMPE, Ariz. – Aaron Pflugrad, a wide receiver on the Sun Devil football team, is one of two 2012 recipients of the postgraduate scholarship awarded by the National Football Foundation and the College Hall of Fame, presented by the Fiesta Bowl.
Pflugrad, along with 56 other student-athletes and the Valley of the Sun NFF Chapter, will be honored at 31st Annual NFF Awards Banquet on Saturday, March 3, at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort at 5 p.m.
A three-year member of the Sun Devil football team, Pflugrad made 73 receptions for 994 yards and seven touchdowns over the course of his ASU career. Pflugrad, who transferred from Oregon in2009, set career highs in games started, receptions, yards, and touchdowns in his 2011 season.
Pflugrad earned second team Academic All-Pac-12 honors after his senior year as well as CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District VIII accolades. He was also a semifinalist for the 2011 William V. Campbell Trophy, which recognizes the best scholar-athlete in the nation
