Persnickity wins Belmont feature

NEW YORK (AP) Persnickity beat Sustainable by two lengths Thursday in the $80,000 allowance feature for fillies and mares at Belmont Park.

The race, originally scheduled for the turf, was switched to the main track which was labeled good.

A gray 5-year-old trained by John Toscano, Persnickity kicked home on a three-wide rally for her eighth win in 40 starts.

Kendrick Carmouche was aboard for the six furlongs in 1:09.65.

Persnickity paid $9.30, $5 and $2.60. Sustainable returned $3.50 and $2.30, and Hillhouse High paid $2.50 to show.
