The New Orleans Pelicans are banged up and short-handed with injuries to Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday and Ryan Anderson.

And it almost got worse heading into Friday night's game against the Phoenix Suns.

Pelicans forward Tyreke Evans wasn't hurt, but he was stuck in an elevator at the team's Phoenix hotel as he was heading to U.S. Airways Center.

Coach Monty Williams was informed of the situation before the game.

"It's an unfortunate set of circumstances," he told Pelicans.com. "There's no other way to (put this) -- he's stuck in the elevator, and they can't get him out. It's not his fault that he's late (to the arena). They're working as hard as they can to try to get him here."

Evans captured the scene inside the dark elevator as he waited patiently.

Luckily, he made it just in time for tip-off and had 14 points and five rebounds in the Pelicans' 116-104 loss to the Suns.
