SUNRISE, Fla. -- The injury bug has hit the Florida Panthers again.
Florida will be without defenseman Erik Gudbranson and winger Jesse Winchester for the next couple weeks as both are nursing lower-body injuries.
Panthers coach Peter Horachek said the players' scans came back negative, but both would be out for "more than a week."
The Panthers recalled defenseman Mike Mottau and winger Joey Crabb from San Antonio of the American Hockey League to fill their spots on the roster.
Gudbranson suffered what appeared to be a left knee injury seven minutes into the third period of Florida's 5-2 loss to Boston on Sunday.
Gudbranson collided with winger Brad Marchand and his leg buckled. The defenseman took a moment to get back up and immediately headed for the locker room. Gudbranson was seen on crutches after the game.
"We'll have to wait to see where it is," Horachek said. "In the short term we got good news with the scan. We were fearful that it was more than we thought."
Winchester, meanwhile, left midway through the third period of the same contest and did not return.
Mottau has appeared in seven games with Florida this season, while Crabb has appeared in one.
