GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Two seasons after Greg Van Roten joined the team as an undrafted free agent, the Green Bay Packers waived the young offensive lineman.

Van Roten suffered a foot injury early in the 2013 season and was placed on injured reserve Oct. 15.

During his time with the Packers, Van Roten appeared in a total of 12 games, though he only played 22 offensive snaps. Capable of playing all three interior offensive line positions, Van Roten outperformed Patrick Lewis in this past year's training camp to claim one of Green Bay's 53 active roster spots.

"Thank you Packer Nation for treating me so well during my time in Green Bay!" Van Roten posted on his Twitter account. "A bitter and sudden ending but a memorable journey nonetheless."
