GREEN BAY, Wis. -- After struggling on special teams last season, the Green Bay Packers went with experienced Stanford returner Ty Montgomery with their third-round pick.
Montgomery, who will also add depth as a wide receiver for the Packers, returned 91 kicks over his four college seasons. He became a punt returner as a senior and took two of his 12 attempts all the way for touchdowns.
As a receiver, Montgomery had 61 catches each of his last two years at Stanford. He ran the ball 23 times, too, averaging 6.2 yards per carry.
