The Packers were in enough trouble at the quarterback position after losing Aaron Rodgers for an extended period of time due to a broken collarbone last week against the Bears.

Sunday, against the Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay lost its backup, Seneca Wallace, in the opening drive leaving the passing duties to third-stringer and former Wisconsin Badgers standout Scott Tolzien.

Now the Packers are in real trouble if they are wanting survive in their next few games without their superstar quarterback in Rodgers.

But never fear Packers fans, James Van Der Beek, best known for his 1999 movie Varsity Blues, says he is on the way to save the season.

For those who don't remember, Van Der Beek played Moxon, the backup QB turned small town superstar of the West Canaan, Texas high school football team in the 1999 "classic" football movie.

Heck, Van Der Beek might actually fit in well with the Packers as Moxon introduced the spread offense about a decade before it became in fashion when he went five-wide-- to the dismay of every person in West Canaan-- during the movies climatic championship game.

Maybe Green Bay can even take a look at Bobby Boucher from The Waterboy to take out a few opposing quarterbacks while it is taking a look at fictional football players.

Just a note, Vince Young and Tim Tebow are still waiting for a phone call-- at least they are real quarterbacks.
