Packers have given away Grant's locker

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The spot in the Packers locker room that belonged to Ryan Grant for the past five seasons is no longer his. With Grant still unsigned, his locker has been assigned to wide receiver Diondre Borel.
This was just another indication that the Packers do not intend to sign Grant to a new contract.
With Green Bay's running back group having its first position meeting of the year on Tuesday, the message to those players seemed to be that Grant would not return.
"He was a great leader," second-year running back Alex Green said of Grant. "For whatever reason, it didn't work out. Now it's our time to step up to the plate and take over."
Grant, 29, rushed for 1,203 yards in 2008 and 1,253 yards in 2009. He missed nearly all of the 2010 season with a broken ankle and returned last season to run for 559 yards while splitting carries with James Starks. So far, he has reportedly visited the Lions and Patriots but has not found a new team.
"We always pick up slack if somebody goes down," Starks said. "This is a group of guys that always thinks for the best. No matter who's down, who's hurt, we're going to give our all.
"We'll be fine regardless."
