Outkick the Coverage Top Ten For Week 11 2014

After a wild day in college football where four of the college football playoff committee's top ten lost, there aren't that many teams with great resumes left.

1. Mississippi State

The Bulldogs had an effective bye against UT-Martin. Now the question is, how physically drained will Alabama be after the LSU win? Remember two years ago that Johnny Manziel and Texas A&M pulled off the upset after jumping out to a 20-0 lead the week after the LSU game. Can Mississippi State take similar advantage over the Tide?

Bigger picture, if State loses to Alabama, but finishes 11-1, are the Bulldogs in the playoff? I think probably so.

2. Florida State

The Seminoles played down to another bad ACC opponent. Could Miami go old school and give the Seminoles one last scare before the playoff? We'll see.

3. Alabama

The Tide survived at LSU. Now will Alabama be able to take down Mississippi State and Auburn to win the SEC West? Here's one vote for yes.

4. Oregon

The Ducks avoided a 14-0 deficit thanks to a boneheaded Utah fumble and managed to survive a tough road game at Utah. It looks like the Ducks will be 11-1 in the Pac 12 title game

5. TCU

Fresh off the win over Kansas State the Horned Frogs are going to finish 11-1. Will that be good enough to make the playoff? Particularly with Baylor holding a head-to-head win?

6. Baylor

The Bears crushed Oklahoma and look likely to post an 11-1 record as well. I still have them beneath TCU because the Horned Frogs have better wins in totality. But if Baylor finishes 11-1 I'll end up with the Bears ranked above TCU. So here's the big question, while everyone has been focusing on the SEC getting multiple teams in the playoff, could the Big 12?

7. Arizona State

The Sun Devils crushed Notre Dame. Which will finally silence Fighting Irish fans for another season. Thank God the Irish didn't lose a close game because if that had happened the Irish would have definitely been in the playoff.

8. Auburn

Like all of you I expected Auburn to come back and win this game. But then they fumbled twice inside the final three minutes of the game and suddenly the Tigers are playing spoiler from here on out.

Sure, the Tigers have two losses. But if they played Nebraska or Ohio State, two one loss teams beneath them, who would you pick to win? I'd take the Tigers.

9. Ole Miss

Ole Miss lost on the road to LSU by three and lost at home to Auburn by four. So the Rebels are a touchdown away from being undefeated. They also boast a win over Alabama.

10. Georgia

Put simply, I think Georgia with Todd Gurley is a top ten team who could beat any team in the country. Of course, Georgia could also lose to half the teams in the country too.
