Our "Comment Of The Day" goes to Dave Hunt

Earlier in the week, our own Hal McCoy discussed the careers of Brandon Phillips and Joe Morgan. Comparisons of the two were made, but it's never easy to stack any player up when it comes to the great Morgan.
Enter Dave Hunt, who left the following statement;

If you consider total bases, walks, hit by pitch, stolen bases, caught stealing, and grounding into double plays, you will find that Morgan accumulated bases at a rate of .64 per plate appearance, while Phillips is only at .50 per plate appearance. In addition Morgan's rate of making outs was only .62 per plate appearance, while Phillips' is .72 per plate appearance. Thus you can see that Morgan was far more likely than Phillips to get a base one way or another, while Phillips is much more likely to make an out.

Well said, sir.  Thanks for the great comment!
