Osweiler, Miles named Pac-10 Players of the Week

Arizona State quarterback Brock Osweiler and kick returner Jamal Miles were named Pacific-10 Conference Players of the Week on Monday after leading the Sun Devils to a 55-34 win over UCLA on Friday.
Osweiler, a sophomore from Kalispell, Mont., came off the bench in relief of injured starter Steven Threet with ASU down 17-0. He promptly completed 27 of 38 passes for 380 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions, setting new career highs in each category. Osweiler also rushed six times for 35 yards and a touchdown. Coming into the game, Osweiler had thrown for 399 yards in his career.
Miles, a sophomore from Peoria, returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown in ASU's victory. Miles became the third Sun Devil player to return a kickoff for a touchdown this season. Miles' return turned a close game (31-27 ASU lead at the time) into a comfortable lead for the Sun Devils. Miles also returned four punts for 16 yards and caught three passes for 20 yards.
Three touchdowns on kickoff returns is a single-season school record and is tied for the Pac-10 record.
Osweiler and Miles join defensive end Junior Onyeali as ASU players to receive player of the week honors this season. Onyeali won for his efforts against Washington State on October 30.
