NEW YORK (AP) Jose Ortiz rode four winners at Aqueduct on Friday, including Seymourdini in the $72,000 allowance feature for 3-year-olds.
The top rider at Aqueduct's winter meet that concluded last month, Ortiz holds a 106-97 advantage over Javier Castellano in the national standings.
Seymourdini set a brisk pace as the even-money favorite in his season debut, holding off Voluntario by a head. He improved to 2-2-0 in four starts, continuing to make good on his $900,000 purchase at a 2-year-old sale last spring by trainer Linda Rice.
The time for the mile was 1:35.62. Seymourdini paid $4, $2.80 and $2.60.
