Orlando City sends Jalil Anibaba to Sporting Kansas City

Jalil Anibaba's stay in Orlando was a brief one.

Selected by Orlando City in Wednesday's expansion draft, the 26-year-old defender was sent to Sporting Kansas City on Friday as part of a previously announced trade between the clubs.

Anibaba, who can play center back and right back, started at least 27 matches in each of his three seasons with the Chicago Fire but only made 14 starts for the Seattle Sounders in 2014.

The University of North Carolina product should help fill the void left by Aurelien Collin. The All-Star center back was dealt from Kansas City to Orlando on Monday for allocation money and "future considerations" — which turned out to be Anibaba.
