SAN DIEGO –
FOX Sports San Diego (FSSD) has announced plans for a full-day of race coverage
live from Opening Day at Del Mar on Wednesday, July 17. Coverage begins with an
hour-long pre-race show beginning at 12:30 PM PST and ending with a half-hour
post-race show following the last scheduled post at approximately 7:00 PM PST.
Broadcasting live from
the paddock at the Del Mar Racetrack, FOX Sports San Diego’s Mike Pomeranz
joins FOX Sports horse racing analyst Kevin Gorg to provide insight and
analysis leading into and following the day’s race coverage. More than 45,000
race fans are expected to attend this year’s Opening Day and FSSD’s Laura
McKeeman and Megan Olivi will be reporting live from around the
track to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the event that's defined as
one of the most fabulous, fashionable and fun festivities in the west.

FOX Sports San
Diego began covering Opening Day at Del Mar last year with
pre-race and behind-the-scenes coverage as part of a special edition of Padres
Live pregame and postgame. This year’s Opening Day at Del Mar falls within
the MLB All-Star break, allowing FSSD to enhance its coverage by producing
exclusive pre- and post-race shows and collaborating with TVG Network to provide
live race coverage all day.
