Olympic champ Henry Cejudo charts ambitious course in UFC, life

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- At 28 years old, Henry Cejudo already has accomplished more than many in this world could dream of. He was the youngest wrestler to win an Olympic gold medal, has written books about his life and continues to his feed his competitive nature as the seventh-ranked fighter in the UFC's flyweight division, created in 2011.
With Cejudo's next fight scheduled to take place on June 13 against Chico Camus during UFC 188, FOXSportsArizona.com sat down with Cejudo to discuss a number of topics.
In this two-part interview at his training facility, Fight Ready MMA, Cejudo speaks about his childhood in a single-parent home in west Phoenix, his journey through wrestling and UFC, recently earning a college degree in theology and his personal goals.
Cejudo, who is undefeated in eight professional fights, has his sights set on winning a championship in not just one but two weight classes, with hopes that the notoriety he gains through fighting can provide a platform for his mission of educating children from similar backgrounds, to help them realize they can be successful in their lives, no matter the circumstances, so long as they strive for more.
