Olympians Bowe, Whitmore headline World Cup qualifier

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) Olympian Brittany Bowe won the women's 500 meters in 37.60 seconds Friday in the U.S. Speedskating Long Track World Cup qualifier.

Olympian Heather Richardson-Bergsma was second in 37.74 and won the 3,000 in 4:10.67.

Sugar Todd was third in the 500 in 38.14.

Olympian Mitch Whitmore won the men's 500 in 34.89. Jonathan Garcia followed in 35.27, and Joey Mantia was third at 35.62.

Maria Lamb was second in the women's 3,000 at 4:19.24, and Erin Bartlett followed at 4:23.17.

Ian Quinn set a personal record while winning the men's 5,000 in 6:36.14. Second-place Chase Reichmann also set a personal record with a mark of 6:43.40. K.C. Boutiette was third at 6:49.71.
