OL Jahair Jones signs National Letter of Intent with Hurricanes

Junior college offensive lineman Jahair Jones signed a National Letter of Intent with the Miami Hurricanes on Sunday morning.
Jones, listed at 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, will enroll in January as a true sophomore after one season with Brooklyn's ASA College. The Avengers went 6-2 with a 4-1 record in conference play. The offense averaged 338.1 yards per game with Jones' help.
He is originally from Edgewater, Maryland, where he received an All-State honor. Jones chose Miami over Ohio State and Virginia Tech.
With the departure of seniors Jon Feliciano and Shane McDermott after the bowl game, and perhaps the early declaration of Ereck Flowers, the Hurricanes could use depth on the line. Two true freshmen -- Nick Linder and Trevor Darling -- were forced into starting roles in 2014 when the unit got bit by injuries.
Earlier this month, New Jersey tight end Jerome Washington signed a NLI with Miami. He transfers from Mercer County Community College, and he played for Gattaca -- a junior college-like club team.
