Ohio college hoops roundup: Felder leads Miami to win


MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) -- Will Felder scored 19 points as Miami (Ohio) snapped a two-game losing skid with a 64-52 victory over Ball State on Saturday.
Miami (6-9, 2-2 Mid-American) bounces back after having lost two straight conference games by a combined eight points.
Miami led by as many as 26 points with 10:26 remaining. Felder made a field goal to give Miami a 58-39 lead with 6:51 to play. Ball State closed with a 13-6 run to cap the scoring.
Felder made eight of 12 field goals, and has scored 15 points or more for the fifth straight time this season. Jaryd Eustace scored 13 points for Miami. Willie Moore added 12.
Zavier Turner scored a career-high 24 points to lead Ball State (3-12, 0-4). Chris Bond had 14 points and Majok Majok grabbed 10 rebounds for the Cardinals, who have lost four straight.
Ohio cruises to 65-46 win over Northern Illinois
DEKALB, Ill. (AP) -- Nick Kellogg scored 16 points, Maurice Ndour added 10 and Ohio cruised to a 65-46 victory Saturday night over Northern Illinois.
Down 25-24 at the break, Ohio opened the second half with a 23-12 run to take a 47-37 lead with 12:18 remaining. Northern Illinois then went nearly nine minutes without scoring, allowing the Bobcats to stretch their lead to 62-40 with 3:47 left.
Kellogg was 6 of 8 from the floor and hit four of five 3-pointers. Ndour made all four free throw attempts, and grabbed eight rebounds.
Ohio (13-4, 3-1 Mid-American) has won ten of its last 11 league road games, its best in program history.
Aaron Armstead and Travon Baker each scored 12 points to lead Northern Illinois (7-9, 1-3), who have lost three of their last four games.
Regan leads Buffalo past Kent State 71-60
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Will Regan scored 19 of 25 points in the second half, and grabbed 10 rebounds, Saturday to lead Buffalo past Kent State 71-60.
Devareaux Manley's 3-pointer early in the second half gave Kent State (11-6, 2-2 Mid-American) a 34-29 lead before Regan scored five straight, sparking a 23-6 run by the Bulls.
K.K. Simmons made 1 of 2 free throws with 8:43 remaining to pull the Golden Flashes within nine, 43-52, but Regan responded by scoring seven straight and giving Buffalo (9-5, 3-1) its biggest lead, 59-43. Kent State never got within single digits again.
Joshua Freelove scored 14 points for the Bulls, who made 21 of 23 (91.3 percent) free throws. Javon McCrea added 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Manley paced Kent State with 17 points while Kris Brewer added 11.
Buffalo snapped a four-game losing streak against Kent State.
Youngstown State defeats Detroit 77-63
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) -- DJ Cole scored 22 points with nine assists and six rebounds to lead Youngstown State to a 77-63 victory over Detroit on Saturday night.
Bobby Hain had 18 points for the Penguins (12-8, 3-2 Horizon). Ryan Weber and Kendrick Perry each added 13 points.
Youngstown State led 28-26 at the break and extended its advantage to eight on a pair of strikes from beyond the arc by DJ Cole midway through the second period.
The Titans came within four with 9:30 left to play before Youngstown State's Ryan Weber and Bobby Hain combined for three 3-pointers for a 66-54 lead. The Penguins cruised through the final five minutes to the win.
The Penguins hit 54.5 percent from the field overall and sank 71.4 percent from the line.
Juwan Howard, Jr. led the Titans (8-12, 1-4) with 20 points and six rebounds.
