Oh, no: Mark Sanchez leaves with injured shoulder in fourth quarter

By Sid Saraf, FOXSports.com The Jets' quarterback situation has gone from bad to worse. We saw rookie Geno Smith play like a rookie in his first preseason start on Saturday, but what Gang Green didn't need was to lose Mark Sanchez. Well, that happened. Sanchez entered the game in the fourth quarter for Smith. After completing 5 of 6 passes and losing a fumble, Sanchez was hit by Giants defensive lineman Marvin Austin. He grabbed his right shoulder and headed to the sideline. He tried to throw a couple passes, but told the team doctors that he wasn't able to go. He later headed to the locker room.

There's no word on the severity of the injury, but regardless this isn't good.It begs the question: What was Sanchez doing in the game?
Mark Sanchez doesn't need help undermining himself. What the Jets coaches/front office did to him tonight is classless. — Frank Isola (@FisolaNYDN) August 25, 2013
