Kobe Bryant recorded his final stats of 2012-13 at the free throw line after tearing his Achilles tendon on April 12, and not even three months later, he's at it again.
On Sunday morning, Bryant posted a photo on Instagram of himself shooting free throws at the Lakers' practice facility in El Segundo. It's the first evidence of Bryant adding shooting to his rehab regimen after his April surgery.
Lakers strength and conditioning coach Tim DiFrancesco weighed in on Bryant's workout on twitter, adding that “ps It was all net.”
Bryant has spoken out in recent weeks about his return timetable, and he's said he hopes to be ready to play by November or December, just seven or eight months after tearing the tendon. He's also commented on the duration of his career; after 17 seasons in the league, Bryant has adjusted his stance from saying he'll play a year or two more to now publicly discussing three or four more years on the court.
Whether those goals are reasonable remains to be seen, as recovering from an Achilles tear is an arduous process, and it's impossible to know how it'll affect the 34-year-old's game when he returns.
