Northern Arizona tops Portland State 71-59

-- Cameron Jones scored a game-high 25 points to lead Northern Arizona to a 71-59 win over Portland State on Saturday night.

Gabe Rogers had 16 points for the Lumberjacks (11-8, 3-4 Big Sky), who beat PSU for the third straight time.

Charles Odum led the Vikings (10-9, 3-4) with 16 points and Melvin Jones added 11 points for the Vikings.

Northern Arizona sprinted to an early 14-2 lead after Jones connected on a 3-pointer about seven minutes into the game.

The Lumberjacks, who held PSU to only five field goals in the first half, never looked back and led by as many as 20 points in the second half while securing the road victory.

NAU shot 59 percent from the field and held the Vikings to just 39 percent.
