No slip-shod work: Bucks new court finally in session

MILWAUKEE -- A month after its slippery surface caused
Milwaukee's preseason finale to be canceled, the Bucks' newly designed floor is
back at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
The Bucks practiced on the Robert Indiana-designed court
Tuesday and the floor will be used for Wednesday's game against Washington.
The surface of the new court caused Milwaukee's
preseason game against the Toronto Raptors to be canceled with 5:58 to play in
the first quarter. Multiple players slipped and fell early on, causing the
officials to halt the game for 20 minutes before calling it off for good.
NBA officials determined the floor's matte finish needed to
be resurfaced, and the court now features a glossier look.
"It was good," Bucks coach Larry Drew said of how
the surface was during practice Tuesday. "I didn't see guys slipping
around or anything like that. Guys seemed to be moving around pretty
well."
Milwaukee used its old court for the first six home games of
the year, but players are looking forward to getting the new floor back.
"It was great," Bucks forward John Henson said.
"It feels good on your knees, and it has a good spring to it with the new
technology on there. It feels good."
