WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) New Zealand prop Owen Franks will not be cited over an incident in Saturday's Rugby Championship test which Australia coach Michael Cheika highlighted amid claims of eye gouging.
Franks was seen to pass his left hand over the face of Wallabies lock Kane Douglas as they tussled at a maul during Saturday's match, won 29-9 by New Zealand.
But the SANZAAR citing commissioner responsible for reviewing the match found no cause to cite Franks or any other player from the game
Cheika drew attention to the incident after the test, saying ''they couldn't miss it, it was pretty in the open. It'd be pretty hard for the match review to miss.''

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen said replays showed no gouging had occured.
