NMSU comes up just short against UTEP

EL PASO, Texas (AP) -- Julian Washburn scored 20 points to lead UTEP to a 55-54 victory over New Mexico State on Wednesday night.
Washburn was 8 of 13 from the field as UTEP (2-4) ended a four-game losing streak.
John Bohannon scored 15 points and Cedrick Lang had six rebounds for the Miners.
UTEP scored 22 points off turnovers by the Aggies.
New Mexico State led 32-28 at halftime.
Tyrone Watson scored 13 points and Tshilidzi Nephawe and K.C. Ross-Miller scored nine apiece for the Aggies (3-4). Mullings had seven rebounds.
